Eight Women’s Cross Country Runners Honored with All-WSC; Natarajan Tabbed Athlete of the Year and Kephart took home Coach of the Year
Raiders run to conference recognitions
MOORPARK, Calif. (Dec. 17, 2025) – The Moorpark College women's cross country team trotted to a 2025 Western State Conference (WSC) Team title on Oct. 24, behind a first-place finish from sophomore Maya Natarajan. Overall, eight Raiders were recognized as All-WSC recipients. Natarajan was crowned the WSC champion and went on to add the title of 2025 WSC Athlete of the Year.
In addition to the athletes, the Coaching Staff was also honored for the program success this season. Head Coach Traycie Kephart was named the WSC Coach of the Year, for the second time, while Assistant Coach Maggie Shearer was equally as responsible for the successes on the course.
AOY honors were combined with an All-WSC First Team nod for Natarajan who was joined by sophomores Keira Kassi and Kayla Saxton as well as freshman Ava Sanders on the First Team.
Second Team All-WSC awards went to sophomores Natalia Beltran and Addison Pereira and freshman Dulce Godinez. Rounding out the recognitions in 2025 was Isabella Shattuck with an All-WSC Honorable Mention nod.
The 2025 Raiders rallied together to finish first at the WSC Championships and went on to advance to California Community College Athletic Association (3C2A) SoCal Regionals before competing at the 3C2A State Championships.
Running for the Raiders is not over yet as many members of the cross country team also suit up for the women's track and field team in the spring.
