Natarajan wins State title
FRESNO, Calif. (Nov. 22, 2025) – This morning on a perfect race Saturday, teams lined up at the California Community College Athletic Association (3C2A) Women's Cross Country State Championships. The Moorpark teams placed sixth in the state among the 23 teams competing in the 5k today.
Scoring for the Raiders, to combine for 222 points, were first place finisher Maya Natarajan (1 pt), 66th place Ava Sanders (51 pts), 67th place Natalia Beltran (52 pts), 74th place Keira Kassi (58th) and 76th place Dulce Godinez (60 pts).
Sanders and Beltran literally ran stride for stride, crossing the finish line separated by the absolute smallest of margins in times of 20:09.8 and 20.09.9, respectively.
Like their teammates, Kassi and Godinez also ran tightly throughout, finishing separated by less than two seconds. Kassi posted a time of 20:15.7 while Godinez crossed the line in 20:17.1.
Both Addison Pereria (105th place) and Kayla Saxton (121st place) suited up in Blue and White today as well. The sophomores, Pereria (20:53.4) and Saxton (20:25.2), completed their final, respective, 5K cross country meet for the Raiders with great races.
Overall, the 3C2A State team title went to Mt. SAC (50) as the only team to score in double figures. Orange Coast (115), San Diego Mesa (149), De Anza (179) Hartnell (217) and MC rounded out the top six.
For the final time today, Beltran, Kassi, Natarajan, Pereira and Saxton donned Blue and White for Moorpark cross country. Many runners from this team will suit up for the Raiders again this spring as part of the track and field team.
