Volleyball Rises into Tie atop WSC Standings
Raiders rally for 3-2 win over Santa Barbara to move into share of first
MOORPARK, Calif. (Oct. 29, 2025) – The Moorpark College women's volleyball team has gone 8-1 in the month of October, and has not dropped a match since Oct. 3. The team jumped to No. 8 in the most recent 3C2A Volleyball poll, announced last week. The squad has enjoyed recent success including a 3-2 victory over previously unbeaten Santa Barbara, to avenge that early October loss, during Homecoming Week.
Before a jam-packed gymnasium on Wednesday evening, the Raiders cruised to 25-19 and 25-23 game one and two wins, respectively before dropping the third (24-26) and fourth (15-25). The team bucked down and staved off defeat with a 15-12 win over SBCC in the final set. The victory propelled the Raiders into a first-place tie atop the Western State Conference standings with just three matches remaining in the regular season.
Olivia Campisi has emerged as a threat to the opposition and tonight she showed off her power. Recording a season-high and career-best 20 kills, the sophomore shared the match-high with Kaylin Cooney of SBCC. She was the only Raiders hitter in double figures on a night when eight different players recorded at least one kill. Daylin Saiki notched a double-double with 38 assists and 14 digs, adding a service ace. Natsune Makino, Mia Paculan and Kaylin Currie finished with 18, 16 and 13 digs apiece, respectively. Currie also supplied two service aces. Genessa Johnson recorded the only solo block of the night, however, the team combined for 17 block assists in the match, paced by six from Callie Stankovich.
