MOORPARK, Calif. (Nov. 8, 2025) – The Moorpark College Women's Basketball team opened the season hot with a trio of road wins before sweeping through the We Are MC Tournament that the program hosted over the weekend. The Raiders are undefeated at 6-0.
Competition began at the Mt. SAC Tip-Off Classic where Moorpark took down Long Beach, 63-52, in the season opener on Oct. 31 and followed with 58-49 and 62-54 victories over Sequoias and Orange Coast, respectively, on Nov. 1 and 2.
In the season opener against Long Beach, Maleyni Tolliver scored a game-high 18 points with an 8-for-8 showing at the free-throw line. Alyssa Saldana finished with 16 points, adding six assists. The duo also finished with six rebounds apiece. Rhema Clements came up with two blocks in the win.
Against the College of the Sequoias, MC placed four players in double figures, with Saldana, Tolliver and Keilani Peralta posting 12 apiece and Hannah Lising contributed 11 in the win. Saldana also handed out a team-high seven assists while Lising came away with five steals. Tolliver and Clements shared the game-high by each grabbing seven rebounds.
Rounding out the Mt. SAC Tournament, MC defeated Orange Coast behind a 25-point, 11-rebound double-double performance from Tolliver who also added a block. Saldana scored 18 points and recorded a pair of blocks. Clements and Lising pulled down eight and seven rebounds, respectively, and each also had a pair of steals. Lising and Aly Taufaasau combined for 10 assists.
Hosting an eight-team tournament over the weekend, Moorpark defeated East Log Angeles 75-41 before blowing past Solana, 91-40, and rounding things out with an 83-51 win over Pasadena City.
Opening the tournament against East LA, Tolliver continued to pace the pack, recording her second straight double-double with 19-points and 10-rebounds to lead all players. Dayzia Mendoza chipped in with five points and five rebounds. Skylar Komatsu and Taryn Watrin each added four points to the tally in the win and Abby Degnan came down with an offensive rebound.
Friday evening against Solano, 10 different Raiders added offensively. Saldana led the way with 19 points and Tolliver had 15 while Taufaasau tallied 11. Ava Yazdandoost scored her first collegiate points in the win.
Rounding out the weekend, MC shot its best team average of the season, knocking down 50.7 percent from the floor while going a perfect 6-for-6 from the free-throw line. Saldana had her strongest performance of the season with a game-high 25 points, shooting 52.6 percent while adding seven rebounds and five assists. Peralta posted 14 points and Lising added 13 with eight boards.
All 11 players who have stepped on the court in 2025 have contributed in some way and will continue to do so as the season winds on.
Moorpark (6-0, 0-0 WSC) returns to action on Tuesday, Nov. 11 when the Raiders travel to Imperial Valley for a 5:00 p.m. tip-off.
