Men’s Volleyball Wraps Up Season
Sophomores recognized in final home appearance
MOORPARK, Calif. (April 11, 2026) – The 2026 Moorpark College men's volleyball season concluded inside of Raider Pavilion with a 3-1 victory over Antelope Valley College on Sophomore Night.
The home squad started hot, hitting .346 in the opening game behind 14 kills and just five errors on 26 attempts to take the first set 25-22. After AVC stormed back and stole the second set at 25-19, but the Raiders rallied for the final two games at 25-17 and 25-18 to seal the match.
Nine players recorded at least one kill. Owen Peterson led Moorpark with 11 for a .318 showing in his final appearance for the Blue and White. Sean Nelson was next with eight and Sinjon Laughton recorded five. Ryan Winston contributed four and Chase Patterson and Nicholas Songco each finished with three. To round out the group, Owen Miranda had two and Daniel Habibi had one kill for the Raiders.
Oliver Bolton dished out 23 assists while Winston tallied 11. Overall, MC combined for seven service aces with two apiece from Songco, S. Nelson and Joey Nelson.
Defensively, S. Nelson led the way with 12 digs and J. Nelson followed with eight. Jake Morales added four digs and Songco tallied three with Peterson and Winston rounding out the final of the 31 total digs with a pair apiece. Laughton had the only solo block of the match and was part of four block assists. Miranda, S. Nelson and Songco each had two block assists in the win.
Moorpark played to a .500 record in 2026 at 11-11 overall with a 7-7 conference finish.
