Finney Makes MC History; Raiders Wrap Up Season at State
Six stand on state podium; White named State Runner-Up
WALNUT, Calif. (May 16, 2026) – On the final day of the 2026 men's track and field season, five individuals and one team stepped up onto the podium at the 2026 California Community College Athletic Association (3C2A) State Championships at Mt. SAC where Moorpark placed 10th as a team.
Roman Finney highlighted the meet with a new school record as he broke the 21-second mark in the 200m to finish in 20.98 and place third in the state as a freshman. The first-year went on to anchor the 4x400m Relay team of Blake Boucher, Nasir Enilolobo and Makhi Hooker who teamed up to finish sixth in a combined 3:18.31.
Enilolobo pulled double-duty, also running the 400m Hurdles in 55.37 to place ninth, just off the podium.
For the final time of his illustrious career, Tommy White, pulled on the Blue and White and ran his way into 10th all-time at MC with a 5,000m time of 14:47.97, which placed the sophomore second to become the 2026 State Runner-Up in his final collegiate race for the Raiders. The clocking also left a mark in the MC record books as White became the 10th fastest 5,000m time in school history.
Joining White in the 5,000m was freshman Trent Williams who ran his way to eighth place in 15:17.24 to earn team points for MC. Another 8th place finish in the meet came from sophomore Desmond Winbush, who battled through illness to run a 49.10 400m race.
In the most grueling event of the meet, JJ Bittner completed the Decathlon, competing in 10 different events and excelling. The first-year student-athlete worked his way to a fourth-place finish with 6415 points. Bittner's top finish of the weekend came in Javelin where he threw 51.21m for third place. He went on to place fourth in both the Shot Put (11.47m) and Discus (38.47m) and fifth in the 100m (11.45) and Long Jump (6.48m). Bittner ran the 1,500m in 5:04.43 for sixth while also landing sixth in the 110m Hurdles (16.03) and High Jump (1.77m). Finally, the freshman placed eighth in both the 400m (51.57) and Pole Vault (3.70m).
The conclusion of the 3C2A State Championships also marked the final weekend of competition for all student-athletes from Moorpark College.
