Soccer Scores Homecoming Win
MC men's squad undefeated in last five
MOORPARK, Calif. (Oct. 31, 2025) – Homecoming Week at Moorpark College has been an exciting one. Today, the Moorpark College men's soccer team contributed to the memorable moments with a 2-0 victory over LA Pierce College.
Sophomore Uziel Diaz connected for the ultimate winning goal in the 11th minute on an assist from Troy Mishkanian. Diaz also added an assist of his own when he helped Ignacio Garcia score at the 17:26 mark to push the lead to 2-0 in favor of the home squad.
The defense held LA Pierce off the board, allowing just four shots, two in each half, and goalkeeper Darius Marsh recorded one save in his 90 full minutes on Halloween.
In the last five games, Moorpark has gone 3-0-2 with wins over LA Pierce (today), Allan Hancock (2-1) and LA Mission (1-0) while playing to ties against both Santa Barbara (0-0) and Oxnard (2-2).
Diaz scored a quick unassisted goal in the 1-0 win over LA Mission on Oct. 17 as Artun Vance turned away both shots on goal to record a pair of saves in his 90 minutes of goalkeeping work for the Raiders.
Vance also paced the defensive unit on Oct. 24 when he tallied four saves against Allan Hancock. Mishkanian got the scoring started in the sixth minute and Diaz notched another game-winner at the 43:02 mark on an assist from Armando Acevedo to propel the Raiders to victory.
Finally, in a 2-2 tie at Oxnard on Oct. 28, both Diaz and Mishkanian found the back of the net for the Blue and White. Vance, again, recorded a save in all 90 minutes.
Moorpark has been led all season by Diaz, who has 13 goals and two assists for 28 points. Mishkanian follows with 18 points on seven goals and four assists. Kevin Parker has scored a trio of times for six points and Adrian Nunez has supplied two goals and an assist for five points. Bobby Bahgeri has scored twice and Alejandro Barreto and Alex Bosanac each has a goal and an assist this season. Vance has 36 saves so far in 2025 and Marsh has recorded eight.
Moorpark (7-5-5, 3-2-2 WSC) currently sits in third place in the Western State Conference with three games remaining in the regular season. Oxnard (5-0-1) and LA Mission (5-2) are ahead of MC in the standings with Santa Barbara (2-2-2), LA Pierce (2-5) and Allan Hancock (0-6-1) rounding out the conference standings to date.
The Raiders return to action on Tuesday, Nov. 4 at home in a showdown with LA Mission beginning at 3:00 p.m.
