MOORPARK, Calif. (Feb. 20, 2026) – The Western State Conference (WSC) regular season came to a close tonight inside Raider Pavilion where the Moorpark College men's basketball team defeated LA Pierce College 94-73.

After a ceremony honoring the six sophomores, Dominique Brutus, Elijah Elohim, Jake Field, Jacob Jordan, Tidiane Sy and Jozef Zlocha, the Raiders took to the court and came out hot, opening a 7-0 advantage. The Brahmas strung some series together and took a 16-12 lead, but the Raiders chipped away and a Brutus layup turned the deficit into an advantage early in a 23-0 run by the home squad as MC cruised to a 41-24 halftime advantage.

Out of the locker rooms it was much more of the same as the Raiders led by as much as 27 points during the second half and controlled the pace of play.

Moorpark shot 50 percent from the floor tonight, knocking down 14 three-pointers, five of which came from Zach Bauman. The Raiders outrebounded LA Pierce 46-38 with 11 different players grabbing at least one.

Brutus led the Raiders with 16 points and nine rebounds while adding a block. Bauman poured in 15 off the bench tonight. In his final regular season appearance for the Blue and White, Zlocha shot a perfect 5-for-5 from the floor for 10 points, adding six rebounds and an assist.

Also tallying 10 points apiece were Noah Cotton and Parsa Kamali. Jordan contributed nine and Eric Kubel and Sy scored eight and seven, respectively.

In other WSC action, Ventura (11-1) defeated Oxnard, 110-82, tonight to clinch the WSC North men's basketball title. Moorpark followed with a 10-2 mark and Allan Hancock (9-3) was third.

Moorpark (19-9, 10-2 WSC) will learn if it has earned a bid to the California Community College Athletic Association (3C2A) postseason. All match-ups, schedules, times and locations will be released on Sunday, Feb. 22, at the seeding meeting and more information will be shared as it becomes available.
