The Raider Men's Basketball traveled to Santa Maria to take on Hancock in WSC North action. Leading Hancock and Cuesta by two games in the standings with 3 games remaining, the Raiders were looking to claim a share of the conference championship with a win over the Bulldogs. The Raiders, who were averaging 81 ppg, trailed most of the game and were unable to keep up with Hancock leading to a 83-64 loss. The Raiders will host Oxnard next Wednesday, 2/19 at 7p and again will attempt to claim a share of the WSC North title.
The Raiders were slow out of the gate and Hancock took advantage as they built leads of 10, 14 and eventually 15 points with 6 minutes left in the first half. The Raiders would cut into the lead and trailed 34-24 at the half.
In the second half, the Raider's shooting improved as they went on a run. They used a 21-10 run with just under 12 minutes left in the game to take a 51-50 lead. Time out Bulldogs. Hancock responded by outscoring the Raiders 33-13 to close out the game.
Cooper Lucas led the Raiders with a game high 22 points. Isaiah Sherrard added 11 points.
