Diaz Drills Four in Commanding Victory
Raiders hot to start September
MOORPARK, Calif. (Sept. 9, 2025) – Since turning the calendar page to September, the Moorpark College men's soccer team has been on fire. After doubling up Lemoore 6-3 on Sept. 2, the Raiders followed up today with a 4-1 victory over Compton, fueled by a hat-trick and more from sophomore Uzi Diaz.
MC controlled play throughout the game, outshooting the Coyotes 17-5 with 11 on goal. In the 43rd minute, the Raiders broke up the scoreless contest when Diaz connected for an unassisted goal just before halftime.
After the break, the tear continued with the ultimate game-winner in the 46th minute, followed by a Tristan Guy assist to Diaz to complete the hat-trick. For good measure, Diaz put another shot into the back of the net in the 76th minute to secure the victory, a second straight, for the Raiders. Artun Vance played all 90 minutes guarding the goal the MC, notching one save.
On Tuesday, Moorpark secured its first victory of the 2025 season against Lemoore. Both Diaz and Kevin Parker scored a pair of goals with the remaining scores coming from Adrian Nunez and Ale Barreto. Vance tallied two saves in the win as well.
Diaz has to contributed six goals in the last two games on 11 total attempts. His four-goal performance against Compton is believed to be a school record for the most goals in a single game.
Moorpark (2-2-1, 0-0 WSC) will be back on the pitch at home on Friday, Sept. 12 with a 4:00 p.m. kickoff scheduled against Antelope Valley.
Box Score: MC 4, CC 1
